Slumdog Millionaire Controversy
Slumdog crorepati is about a young 18 year old boy who lives in the slums to go onto a show “Who wants to be a millionaire” and ends up winning 20 crore rupees! and that also to win the love of his life…
And now, someone has decided that the name of the movie, Slumdog Crorepati, is abusive to the “Slum dwellers” and wants to sue the indian actors.
“Petitioner Tapeshwar Vishwakarma, general secretary of the Jhuggi Jhonpdi Sanyukta Sangharsh Samiti (a group promoting the rights of slum dwellers), has charged those associated with the film of abusing slum dwellers in the name of entertainment just to earn money and fame.The name “is against the basic human values”, she said.”
kya yaar…. really! and what is Ms.Vishwakarma doing? Isn’t she also using these people in the name of entertainment?! and what will the end result be – won’t it also be money and fame for her!?
And why only the indian actors? why doesn’t she sue the directors or the producer? If she really has a point to prove, why doesn’t she sue them and stop them forever from calling her people names… is this really fair? Is she really rallying for the people or is it about the money?… or is this in a round-about way, PR for the movie?
Jai Ho! (Slumdog Millionaire)

As always, A.R. Rahmans music charms…. per as is the rule – it only hits you after you have heard atleast 3-4 times!
This song is no exception and the thing that really brings it to the top is the energy shown in this dance sequence. It comes at the end of the movie – but still, the song manages to hold up.

Delhi 6 (Maula Arziyan)
The song isn’t that great – or maybe it will grow on us with repititive listening – as is the case with most A.R Rahman compositions. It has a sufiyana touch to it but nothing compared to “Khwaja mere khwaja” of Jodha Akbar.
But can be watched just to see another video of the movie – Delhi 6;Â as well as other characters – namely Rishi Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman & Divya Dutta.
From the makers of Rang De Basanti & from the looks of this song – this movie will definitely be emphasizing on a controversial issue as well….
Giving it a “2.0“…

Sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Shreya Ghosal, this is a nice soft melodious number…. per listening to it right now and the way it is picturised – i would just call it slightly above average.

Priyanka Chopra really knows how to dance! and her expressions go so in-tune with the song and its theme – shararti, amused and ofcourse – gorgeous!
An extremely catchy song and becoming extremely “in” as a joke worldwide – the lastest being in Idian Idol 4.
This song will be on the lips of every guy, girl and ma for a very long time! 🙂

Delhi 6 (Masakali Matakkali)
A.R Rahman’s music – what can you expect then but the best!
The song itself has a very ethnic touch but i think what really sets it apart is Sonam Kapoor! Her simple and natural look seem almost perfect for the song.
And though i don’t see it, a cousin happened to comment that she feels Sonam Kapoor has a touch of Aishwarya Rai in the song… well what do you expect – she is working with Abhishek Bachchan – kya pata she was chosen for that very reason 😉
A “4.5” – just for Sonam Kapoor!
