The first time i saw Anushka Sharma…
The first time i saw Anushka Sharma was when she got off the train in her red shaadi ka jora…. movie may ofcourse! 🙂
Ufsos, my first impression of her was not at all positive – i thought she looked too old (no way does she look 19 i thought!) and overweight and i could not imagine why anyone would take her on as a herione!
But the scene which made me sit up and do a complete 360 degrees (exactly like Shahrukh khan in the movie) was the first party they had at home of Shahrukhs office friends – when she comes out wearing the red shalwar kameez – she looks totally and completely amazing!
Still, i noticed that her face kept changing through out the movie – for example, when she takes those dancing classes – she suddenly looks so thin and slim!
Since then, i have searched the net for her pictures but still am unable to decide wether Anushka Sharmas is fat, ugly, thin, pretty, beautiful or simply a plain jane – What do you think?

Rab ne bana di Jodi
Actors: Shahrukh Khan, Anushka Sharma
Released: 12th December 2008
Rab ne bana di jodi may be a hit but its not what i would call a superhit!
Surinder (Shahrukh Khan) is an ordinary nerdy looking middle class man who falls in love at first sight with Taani (Anushka Sharma) – a fun loving bubly girl. A sudden twist entwines their lives together and the rest of the story is about the changes that Surinder brings in himself and his life to win his wifes love.
As far as acting skills are concerned – both Anushka Sharma and Shahrukh khan do full justice to their respective roles! In fact – Anushka Sharma – being a newcomer – handles her role with aplomb.
But there was lot desired of the storyline due to which the movie dragged with only a few scenes making an impact – the most notable being Anushka Sharmas motorcycle scene and Shahrukh khans when he finds out that his wife does love him!
Also, the ending was quite unrealistic but then since most of the movie was so – i guess this point must be overlooked. Of the music, the title track was probably the most unappealing! “Dance pe chance” and “Haule Haule” are the ones that stay with you the most.
A must-watch for the acting but don’t expect too much from the story. Also, i wholly recommend this movie as a Family watch – to find a movie with not even an ounce of vulgarity in this time and age – hats off to the movie just for that!
But on the whole, i can give this movie a “3.5” and nothing more.
